ICAR, CISH, Lucknow organized webinar on value addition and processing of fruit and vegetables

ICAR, CISH, Lucknow organized one day webinar on January 25, 2022 to deliberate opportunities in value addition and processing of fruit and vegetables. Expert Dr. R.B. Tiwari, Principal Scientist of Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangaluru presented the details of Post Harvest technologies developed by ICAR-IIHR, Bangaluru. Besides, he also presented the commercial enterprises/ start-ups working in field of PHT Technologies promoted by ICAR. The importance of dehydration, osmotic dehydration and freezing Dehydration was also emphasized for value addition of fruit and vegetables. Dr. Neelima Garg, Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow made presentation of her PHM technologies such as cider, wines, probiotic drinks, fibre enriched biscuit, Aonla-prash and herbal chew, etc. Fruit and vegetable post harvest losses are huge and therefore there exists great opportunity for technology led entrepreneurship. The Programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Maneesh Mishra, Principal Scientist, Agri-Business Incubation Centre of CISH Lucknow. Scores of entrepreneurs, students, scientists and farmers Participated in the program through virtual mode.
